Health officials are investigating whether restaurant chain Taco Bell "played a role" in the ongoing multistate outbreak of cyclosporiasis, The Washington Post said Tuesday.

The CDC has confirmed more than 1,600 laboratory-confirmed cyclospora cases across 34 states since May, while thousands of additional reports are still being reviewed.
